I'm feeling a bit like a crazy lady. I've been hauling water in a big bucket around the house. It's 'grey-water' from our high-efficiency furnace. You see, the furnace condenses water from the air (as part of the heating process) and that water drains into our laundry room sink.
I've had my eye on that water for quite some time now - thinking what a waste it is to watch it all go down the drain. I finally put a bucket under the drainage tube and I was quite shocked to see just how quickly that bucket filled up.
So I started hauling the bucket upstairs to water plants and wash dishes and now that I've started it's hard to stop. It feels a bit like Little House on the Prairie or something, except that I don't have to go outside to get the water. If I start to shower with it, I'll really know I've gone off the deep end.
I've gotta ask - does anyone else do this? (or am I really the crazy lady that I think I am?) What else do you do to conserve water around your house?
