Hey did you know there's another Practically Green out there in the world? Apparently my publisher was not the only one who thought that Practically Green was a good title for inspiring people to make greener choices.
The Practically Green that I'm talking about is a website and it encourages green living in a different way than most blogs or books. It offers an assessment tool that evaluates your personal actions in the areas of health, water use, energy consumption and other lifestyle decisions. Once you have completed the assessment (which only takes 5 minutes by the way) you are encouraged to take action steps to improve your green profile. The actions are very simple things like switch to a reusable lunch bag, install a Smart power strip, go vegetarian once a week or give an ecofriendly gift....you get the gist. As you complete actions, you accumulate points and badges toward a goal of being as green as you can possibly be. An admirable goal if I do say so myself! The website is still in beta testing but down the road it will have a stronger link to products and services that will help you live the green and healthy life you are looking to live.
I have been friendly with the site's founder, Susan Hunt Stevens via social media circles and recently had the chance to chat with her about her business. Actually, she was interviewing me for a post on her Practically Green blog!! We had a great time chatting, especially about the random fact that we both use the Practically Green name, but it turns out we have a lot in common, including our marketing backgrounds and the fact that it was having kids that really pushed us to color our lifestyles green. From the sound of it, Practically Green has some big plans ahead....so take the quiz and stay tuned for more!
BTW - I took the quiz this morning and was dubbed Impressively Green!! However, there are still plenty of action steps for me to take to win the title of Wickedly Green. Believe me, I'm planning to try!

I have seen the green footprint before which sounds similar. Love the idea that it gives you action steps to take. Definitely checking this out!
