Have you ever been to the Rocky Mountains? If not, I highly recommend you add it to your bucket list! We just spent a week in Grand Lake, Colorado, a cute little town at the base of Rocky Mountain National Park and it was spectacular! The perfect setting for our family reunion.
We saw lots of wildlife - including moose right near our cabin!
...which allowed me to keep up with the Go Green Get Fit Challenge even though it can be a challenge to stay fit on vacation. I also had plenty of chances to wear my new eco-friendly hiking boots from Patagonia (courtesy of Planet Shoes)! They were super comfy, extremely durable and I love that they are made with lots of recycled material (Vibram Trail Ecostep outsole with 30% recycled rubber, 20% recycled EVA anatomical footbed and Bi-Fit 80% post consumer recycled polyurethane waterproof insole board to be specific.) Plus they are nice looking too (BONUS!)
Of course we took our reusable water bottles with us on our hikes, were careful to leave no trace behind and ate most meals at our well-equiped rental cabin instead of doing takeout or fast food. The only eco-issue we ran into (and it was a big one), was that the small town we stayed in did not have recycling. Ouch!!
Check out the Peach Galette my sister made from local Colorado peaches. Yes,it was as divine as it looks!
What kind of outdoor adventures have you had this summer?
(Note: Planet Shoes sent me a pair of Patagonia hiking boots as part of the Go Green Get Fit Challenge and in exchange for my honest opinion. There are affiliate links in this post. Any purchase you make helps me keep this blog in business - thank you!)

Micaela! Looks like a fabulous trip in so many ways. What a gorgeous spot, the peach galette makes me hungry, and the shoes make me want to go hiking! Thank you for the inspiring and sweet sharing.

We spent part of our summer trip In Colorado and found the lack of recycling so frustrating! When we go back I want to spend a little more time in Rocky Mountain National Park, but it looks like where you stayed was a lot of fun!

Brenna - where were you in Colorado? Isn't it a wonderful state? I agree about the lack of recycling - extremely frustrating!

We've been doing a lot of fishing! Our children are still young to fully enjoy the sport (3 under 4yo!), but being outside together is wonderful.
