Say hello to my new favorite lunch containers: Plenty Full! You probably haven't seen them before because they are from a tiny little mom-run company that's just getting started. It's my hope to help introduce them to the world...just in time for back-to-school!
It's true you can find other stainless containers out there, but what makes Plenty Full containers unique is that the lid closes tightly and securely with a silicone seal that is both air and water tight! When you press it closed, you hear a click, and know the container is ready to go.
Eco Strengths
- Made from food grade stainless steel that will not leach chemicals like plastic
- Food safe silicone seal around lid
- BPA-free
- Reusable over and over again
- Company is a member of 1% for the Planet
Fav Products
Plenty Full products come in 3 sizes: baby - for snacks, mama - for snacks or sandwiches and papa - for salads or leftovers. We got a sample of the mama size (see photo at right) as well as the optional cup insert that fits inside. It's just perfect for a child's sandwich and fruit!
Second Thoughts?
You'll pay more for a nice stainless container than you will for plastic but stainless will last forever. I've thrown out a lot of cracked plastic containers in my life - how about you? My only hesitation is that my boys have been known to lose their lunchboxes from time to time. I'm like a drill sargent about bringing everything home but we have lost some very nice lunch supplies over the years....
Buy It!
So far Plenty Full containers are only available on the company website. The owners have generously offered to give a 20% discount to Mindful Momma readers through the end of September, 2012. Just mention Mindful Momma in the notes when you make a purchase and they will give you a 20% refund via PayPal.
What's your favorite way to pack an eco-friendly lunch?
(Disclosure: I received a free Plenty Full container in exchange for my honest opinion.)

I love my stainless steel lunch containers, but I like how these particular ones have a snap to keep them closed! So smart!

Those look good, I'll have to check them out. My oldest daughter started school this year, and we are looking to cut down the plastic that we use in her lunch.

I'm excited that these stainless containers actually have a way to stay closed. That is a big problem with our other stainless containers. Thanks for sharing!

I agree Lori - the fact that the containers stay tightly closed is a huge plus. And they are also easy for kids to open and close by themselves!

Ive been looking to invest in some stainless steel containers to get completely away from the plastic containers and bags; Ill have to check out that website. Lately, Ive started wrapping sandwiches and other dry-ish things in cloth napkins.

Good idea to wrap sandwiches in cloth napkins Emily! I think you'll love the Plenty Full containers if you get them. :)
