Eco Friendly Nursery Ideas
Are you pregnant or know someone who is? I've got some tips for putting together an eco friendly baby nursery over at Zenoobi. I'll be writing a monthly blog post for them so check it out if you have a chance! And while you're there, check out their web store too. Zenoobi is a great resource for eco friendly baby furniture, gear and clothing!
Detox Diet
My husband and I are in the midst of our annual detox diet. After the holidays we like to clean up our system a bit by eliminating many of the typical toxins and potential allergens from our diet for awhile. Things like dairy, gluten, sugar, alcohol and processed foods are out. Well, mostly out. We decided to make exceptions for some social events that we've had going on lately but for most of the week we've been pretty strict. (You may notice I didn't mention caffeine. I decided to continue with my 1 cup of 1/2 caf coffee per day. I'm much happier that way!)
We certainly haven't been suffering. The first week was kind of hard but now we are most of the way through the second week and we feel great! The other night my husband whipped up this AMAZING polenta dish topped with eggplant, mushrooms, spinach and black olives based on a recipe from the cookbook Plenty by Yotam Ottolenghi. Now that's my kinda diet food!
Eco Craft of the Week: Tile Photo Coasters
My blogging friend Jennie over at Sweet Greens came up with a cool craft idea for turning leftover bathroom tiles into photo coasters. She used Poloroid photos but I'm sure you could use regular photos as well. Aren't they sweet?
Speaking of eco crafts - I'll have a fun DIY project over at Green Your Way (a channel of the Life Your Way network) early next week.
Hope you have a green & healthy weekend!
