I read this great quote the other day: "The most political act we do on a daily basis is to eat." (Professor Jules Pretty, co-author of a study in the journal Food Policy, from the University of Essex, UK.)
That’s so cool! I don’t really consider myself an activist but I’d love to think that I am, at least a little, ity bit. And I love the concept of voting with your dollar. It doesn’t have to be lots of dollars, just whatever you can – and it obviously extends to more than just what we eat.
So if you’re at the store and you buy one local, organic, sustainable or energy-saving product that you weren’t planning to, you’ve cast your vote for the day. That’s my speed. I’d rather feel good than guilty!
