Our spring break seems really late this year. But then again, so does our spring. With my 3rd grader home from school I have to keep on coming up with solutions to the inevitable problem...."I'm bored - what can I do??"
Our favorite boredom-buster is making 'junk' sculptures. We collect all sorts of weird things and then glue them together with hot glue guns. The kids come up with some amazing and amusing ideas. The shoe race car was my idea but my 4 year old claims it was his. If you ever wondered what to do with the cardboard insert from a new pair of shoes - now you know!
These are so great! My daughter would love doing this. We jsut found broken up dog bowl, painted wiht dog prints, on a walk. We are going to make garden ornaments out of it. Also, we are making pine cone people with sticks for legs and arms. Good old local toys!
