Whew!! I'm happy to say that my holiday headache is gone. All my shopping is done and I've got just a few more gifts to wrap. Cookies have been baked (from non-organic ingredients - but hey - they're homemade!!) and a gingerbread house has been assembled (from a kit, but better than nothing!) My biggest concern right now is the big winter storm heading toward the Midwest. We're traveling to Madison tomorrow and I hope to get on the road before the snow begins to fly!
If you are still in gift-wrapping mode, here are a few earth-friendly wrapping tricks that I used this year:
Gift tags made from old cereal boxes and stamped with Christmas stamps. Not very fancy, but they work for me!
A gift wrapped in a dishtowel and a shoestring. Who couldn't use a new dishtowel?
Instead of the comics, I wrapped this gift in toy advertisements. There's certainly no shortage of those around these days!!
And some absolutely beautiful wrapping paper made with recycled content from Paper Source. As hard as I try to live the green life, I'm still a sucker for pretty wrapping paper and cards. Thank goodness there are good recycled options!
I'm thinking this will be the last post I write before Christmas...so I wish you a very merry one if that's the holiday you celebrate. And if you don't, then a relaxing and enjoyable few days off of work at the very least!
See you in the New Year!
I really think we should get enough recipe and alternative ones when it comes to this one.

Christmas is over but my wrapping is still on going. I still have to attend post christmas and new year party. So Thanks for the tips, this is much appreciated and will surely make my work more green and easier.
Happy New Year!

Best wrapping we've found -- my husband the king of dumpster diving, found rolls and rolls of architectural plans in a dumpster -- looks cool wrapped around a box!
Old maps are also awesome.

I wonder how you could wrap homemade cards that contain the other kind of gift (like gift cards, memberships, homemade coupons, etc). aka: what could replace an envelope?

you can always use scraps and little bits of paper that piled up over the years from presents you received. also, a new idea a saw a few days ago, is using old maps as wrapping paper! I thought it was really neat:)
