Are you the type who likes to break out a few power tools every now and then? If you are then perhaps you'll be interested in these crafty ideas made from found wood. Nothing too complicated here....and I'm betting most people can come up with some scrap wood in their own backyard!
Handmade wooden buttons - This is something I would love to try! Grab a couple of small tree branches, a hacksaw, a drill and some sandpaper and you're all set to create your very own wooden buttons!! Wouldn't these look fabulous on a felted wool purse? {found on Shrimp Salad Circus via Craft Gossip}
Once you get the hang of making buttons, why try your hand at a necklace pendant? This one came from an Etsy shop called neawear awhile back but I'm thinking you could recreate something similar if you tried. Simple but elegant! {found via Crafting a Green World}
Every year at Christmas-time we end up with a chunk of wood that's cut off from the bottom of the Christmas tree. This little crayon holder would be the perfect use for it! I would suggest gluing a piece of felt onto the bottom to avoid getting sap on your table! {found on Which Name via Crafting a Green World}
Have you ever crafted with found wood? What have you created?
I like the crayon holder. I wonder if you have to worry about things like bugs living in the wood, though? We had a live tree once and ended up with a ton of tiny spiders in our house.

Oh my gosh, I've got to go right out and make these buttons. They are so great. Brilliant! Thank you for the idea.
