Gearing up for craft season? This is the time of year when I get all sorts of big ideas for things I might create - either for gifts or decorations. Here are a few things that have caught my eye so far:
Paper Cup Turkey: The Crafty Crow shares a bunch of cute turkey crafts for kids. This one made from a recycled paper cup is my favorite! Other eco-ideas include using old spools, paper bags and more.
Homemade Vanilla Extract: Whole vanilla beans, vodka and some pretty glass bottles are all you need to brew up a batch of vanilla extract that will rival the store-bought stuff both in price and quality. This tutorial from Indie Spotting even provides you with a PDF for the stickers.
Tissue Box Houses: these pretty little house decorations are made from recycled tissue boxes. The blog Michelle Made Me offers up downloadable house plans and is even hosting a tissue box challenge to see who can make the most houses out of one tissue box!
Homemade Nutella: I've made this crazy delicious chocolate hazelnut spread for my family but never for gifts. Thinking it would be a nice little something for neighbors, teachers and friends.
Do you have plans for making holiday gifts and decorations? Please share your ideas!!
This is my post for the Green Moms Carnival - hosted on December 6th by Jenn at The Green Parent. The topic? Holidays without the Hoolpa - how to enjoy the holiday season without the focus on buying so much stuff!
I made pumpkin butter from our Halloween pumpkins and put it in the freezer. I'm going to defrost a few and give them as Christmas gifts

I like your idea of using recycled paper cup to make a turkey decoration. But, I think it's too complicated to me. Therefore, I think to myself, what can I do to make a decoration or something? And I get an idea which I can achieve myself: cut the plastic bottles and use them as pencil vase.^^
