Hi Micaela,

I am so excited about eco-tourism - and these spots look great! Problem is, they are usually in places of the world where you might not be visiting anyway. Oh, well.

I think there's a lot of misconceptions about "green" travel, too, like it has to be all cold showers and sleeping in the rain forest. Green travel is evolved, and that can include luxury!

I just released a new app - Orlando Green Travel - http://itunes.apple.com/app/orlando-green-travel/id421683725?mt=8 - that helps visitors to one of America's favorite vacation destinations find greener hotels, spas, dining and attractions - even the theme parks. While they might not all be perfect, like the ones listed above, the entries are doing quite a lot to help the environment, and you might not even realize it!

The more we support these places, the more there will be! :)

Thanks for your comment Kim. Your green travel app sounds great! Keep up the good work!

I often dream of taking off for some fantastic eco-resort, but have yet to do it. My husband and I planned to take a big trip for our 10 year anniversary (2 years ago), but we weren't able to go then. I had hoped then, and still hope for when we do get to go, that we will be able to stay at some sort of "green" resort. Definitely not going to be able to swing $2000 for 2 nights though. ;)

The place looks great! I bet my wife would love this too, since she's into tropical places and supports the green lifestyle. She even does simple organic gardening by using food waste for her composting. Well, I better start planning now for our next wedding anniversary… The place looks peaceful and relaxing. :p
